Ingredients
(3 servings)
1 Tofu (firm)
1tbsp soy sauce
1tbsp Mirin or water
1tbsp Sake or white wine
2/3tbsp sugar
1tbsp vegetable oil
grated Daikon radish (optional)
green onion or chive (optional)
Directions
- Wrap the Tofu in kitchen paper. Put it in a dish and heat in a microwave for 1 minute. Flip the tofu over and heat the other side for 1 minute also.
- Unwrap the kitchen paper and cut the tofu into 12 pieces. Put potato starch on all sides of the Tofu pieces.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a small skillet. Put the Tofu in the oil and cook until it is brown on all sides.
- Add the soy sauce, Mirin, Sake, and sugar. Turn the tofu over and over for 2 minutes straight.
- If desired, serve grated Daikon radish and green onion with the Agedashi-Dofu.
Tips
Tofu is made from soy beans. It is low in calories and high in protein. Also, it has a good source of calcium
The hardness of the Tofu depends on the brand, so choose the kind you desire. Originally, this Tofu is deep-fried but I choose to stir-fry it because it is easier.
